Starting or buying a business in Crossfield? After getting a development permit, all businesses operating in Crossfield require a Town of Crossfield Business Licence. Depending on the business type, other municipal, provincial and federal permits may be required.
Business licence overview
Every business, occupation or trade that is carried on with the intention of making a profit within the Town of Crossfield limits, will require a business licence issued by the Town of Crossfield, as regulated under the Business Licence Bylaw.
NOTE: At its regular meeting Feb. 2, Town council approved a motion to waive 2021 business licence fees for any Town of Crossfield licence holder for the 2021 calendar year; any businesses which have paid for their 2021 business licences will be issued a refund. Licences are still required and businesses must apply to the Town of Crossfield as usual.
- In Town Business and Out of Town Business - $51
- After July 1 of the calendar year - $31 (Pro-rated licencing fee is for new businesses only.)
- Temporary Business Licence (72 hrs) - $41
- Fees are not refundable.
