Volunteers Needed

Are you interested in volunteering in your community? Are you an organization looking for volunteers?

The Town of Crossfield is always looking for and encouraging residents of Crossfield to get involved. One of the best ways to get to know your community is to volunteer. 

 Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB)

 

The Town of Crossfield is looking for 2 volunteers to sit on the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.

 The Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB) deals with subdivision and development appeals in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Government Act and shall exercise any other powers, duties, and functions given to it be any other bylaws of Council.

SDAB meet as necessary during the day or the evening at the Town of Crossfield, Council Chamber.

If you are interested in sitting as member on Subdivision Development Appeal Board (SDAB), please complete our Town of Crossfield Board & Committee Application and return it to the Town Office at 1005 Ross Street, Crossfield or by email.

 The Municipal Planning Commission (MPC)

 

MPC shall deal with "Applications for a Development Permit" in accordance with the provisions of the Act and the Land Use Bylaw and shall exercise any other powers, duties, and functions given to it by the Land Use Bylaw and the Municipal Planning Commission Bylaw.

It is the duty and responsibility of the Municipal Planning Commission to consider "Applications for a Development Permit" and render decisions in accordance with the provisions of the Land Use Bylaw, the Municipal Government Act, and any other relevant bylaws or Provincial Legislation and Regulations.

MPC meets as necessary during the day at the Town of Crossfield, Council Chambers.

CORA is looking for members who are involved in or interested in Outdoor Recreation for youths - please call Annette at 403-946-0180.

 Tails to Tell Animal Shelter

 

Tails to Tell Animal Shelter is looking for more volunteers! Volunteers can be age 16 or over, and will be responsible for basic animal care while volunteering at the shelter.

 

Interested volunteers can stop by the shelter during business hours or by email.

Crossfield Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce is the voice of business. The Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst--a common vehicle mobilizing enlightened members from all segments of the business community to work together for the common good of the total community. With the aim of achieving economic success, staff, volunteers and business people strive to keep their area's economic conditions at a level where businesses and residents willingly and enthusiastically risk their capital in their community in the hope of making a profit. Everything else the Chamber does is a means to an end (events, mixers, fundraisers and meetings).

Town of Crossfield Municipal Library Board & Ann Grover Library Society

The Town of Crossfield Library Board and Ann Grover Library Society are seeking additional volunteers on their Board of Directors.

The Town of Crossfield Library Board

The Board oversees the daily operations of the Crossfield Municipal Library building, manages the financials, and contributes ideas to new programs and services.

Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of the month (no meeting July, August, nor December)

Location: Crossfield Municipal Library  - 1210 Railway Street

Time: 7:00pm

 

Ann Grover Library Society

The Society is responsible for major fundraising for the library. They plan fundraisers and apply for various gaming events, including a casino approximately every three years. This is a great opportunity for event planners that are keen to help fundraise for the library.

Meetings: board meetings are, at minimum, an annual general meeting; other meetings are as needed for each event.
